St. Michael’s High School, located at Digha Ghat in Patna, is a Catholic Missionary educational institution founded in 1858 by the first Bishop of Patna, Dr. Anastasius Hartmann. Begun as a boarding school for poor and orphan boys, the school has witnessed tremendous growth and now has over 3000 students (both boys and girls).

Since 1968, the School is managed by the Patna Jesuit Society, a part of the world-wide Society of Jesus (Jesuits) founded in 1540 by St. Ignatius of Loyola. The Society of Jesus has been active in the field of education throughout the world since its origin.

Admission Guidelines

  1. L.K.G: Applications are ordinarily accepted two months prior to the academic year (starting in April). Admission is granted on a random basis after verification of documents.
  2. Class I-X: Normally, casual vacancies, if any, are filled in after the commencement of the academic year.
  3. Class XI: Admission is selective. Students of Class X must apply when applications are called for and appear for an Aptitude Test.
  4. Eligibility for Class XI depends on high academic performance, regularity in attendance, and good character.

  • Science Stream: Requires an average of 85% or corresponding grade in Maths & Science.
  • Commerce Stream: Requires an aggregate of 70% or corresponding grade.
