About the University

Established in 1917, Patna University is the seventh-oldest university in India. It was the first university in Bihar and remained the only one for decades, shaping the intellectual destiny of the state. The university is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

With 31 Post Graduate Departments, 10 Constituent Colleges, and 3 Institutes, it offers a diverse range of courses from Ancient Indian History to modern Biotechnology. The university has recently implemented the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and 4-Year Undergraduate Programmes to align with global standards.
