The Patna Training College, established in 1908 following Lord Curzon's Resolution on Education Policy, holds the distinction of being the mother institution of teacher education in the region now comprising Bihar, Orissa, and Jharkhand. As a constituent unit of Patna University, it forms the core of the Faculty of Education. The college was the first in the country to start the Master of Education (M.Ed.) program in 1935 and continues to be a premier, NCTE-recognized institution for teacher training, forming the backbone of the secondary teacher training program in the state.

How to Get Admission?
- Appear for Bihar B.Ed. CET: You must qualify in the Bihar B.Ed. Common Entrance Test (CET-BED), conducted annually by the state-level nodal university (like LNMU).
- Register for Counselling: After the results, register for the centralized online counselling process on the official CET-BED portal.
- Choice Filling: During counselling, fill in your college choices and select Patna Training College as your top preference.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3) and/or in the Master's Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanity.
- OR, Bachelor's in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks.
- Must have qualified the Bihar B.Ed. Common Entrance Test (CET-BED).
