Heritage & History
Langat Singh College, popularly known as L.S. College, is the oldest and premier higher educational institution of North Bihar. Established on July 3, 1899, it was founded through broader community support with Babu Langat Singh playing a prominent role.
Originally affiliated to Calcutta University (1900), then Patna University (1917), and finally Bihar University (1952), the college predates the university itself. The college boasts a magnificent building featuring Indo-Sarcenic architectural style, modelled after Balliol College, Oxford.
"The college had its historic tryst with Mahatma Gandhi when he came to the campus on April 11, 1917, on his way to Champaran Satyagraha."
