Who We Are
Lalit Narain Tirhut Mahavidyalaya is a prestigious co-educational college located at Aghoria Bazar Chowk, a prime location in Muzaffarpur. The college was established in the year 1967, originally named Tirhut Mahavidyalaya, by the vigorous efforts of its founder members under the leadership of the then Railway Minister, Late Lalit Narain Mishra.
Following the tragic assassination of Pandit L.N. Mishra in 1975, a special meeting was held on 8th January 1975 to honor his legacy. The committee unanimously resolved to rename the institution as Lalit Narain Tirhut Mahavidyalaya, a request that was promptly approved by the university.
The college was approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, under sections 2(f) and 12(B) in the year 1982. Today, it imparts teaching to approximately 3000 students across Science, Arts, Commerce, and Vocational streams.
