Government Engineering College (GEC), Kaimur is a government-run institution established in 2019 by the Government of Bihar under the Department of Science and Technology. It was founded as part of the “Saat Nischay Yojna” to meet the growing demand for skilled technical professionals. The institute is affiliated with Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU), Patna, and all its courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
Initially starting its academic sessions at the LNJPIT Chapra campus and later at SEC Sasaram, the college officially moved to its permanent 20-acre campus in Jaitpur Kalan, Kaimur, in August 2021. The institute is dedicated to providing a robust academic environment with modern facilities to support learning and research.

How to Get In?
- Appear for JEE (Main): Secure a valid rank in the Joint Entrance Examination (Main).
- Register for UGEAC: Register for the Undergraduate Engineering Admission Counselling (UGEAC) conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB).
- Choice Filling: During counselling, select Government Engineering College, Kaimur and your preferred engineering branches in the online portal.
- Seat Allotment: Seats are allocated based on your JEE (Main) rank, category, and choices.
- Reporting & Verification: Once a seat is allocated, report to the institute for physical document verification and fee payment to confirm your admission.
