About the College
Government Engineering College (GEC), Buxar is a premier technical institute established by the Government of Bihar under the Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education. It began its first academic session in 2019 from the campus of Bakhtiyarpur College of Engineering. On April 15th, 2024, the college proudly shifted to its permanent, state-of-the-art campus in Mahdah, Buxar.
Situated in a region with a rich mythological and historical heritage, GEC Buxar aims to be a beacon of modern technical learning. The college is committed to nurturing socially responsible engineers and leaders prepared to meet the challenges of a fast-changing technological world.

How to Get Admission?
- Appear for JEE (Main): Secure a valid rank in the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) Paper-1.
- Register for BCECEB Counselling: Participate in the Under Graduate Engineering Admission Counselling (UGEAC) conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB).
- Choice Filling: Fill in your preferred branches at GEC Buxar in the online counselling portal.
- Seat Allotment: Seats are allocated based on your JEE (Main) rank, category, and choices.
- Document Verification & Reporting: Once a seat is allotted, report to the designated center for document verification and then to the institute for final admission and fee payment.
