About the Institute
The Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), established in 1986 under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, is a premier institution dedicated to the growth of the Footwear, Product, Leather, Retail, and Fashion sectors. In recognition of its significant national contributions, FDDI was granted the status of an "Institution of National Importance" under the FDDI Act 2017.
The Patna campus, located at Bihta, is a sprawling 10-acre complex with a 2 lakh sq. ft. built-up area. It is equipped with world-class facilities, including 19 air-conditioned classrooms with smart boards, 12 modern technical workshops for hands-on practice, a hi-tech IT lab, a resourceful library, and on-campus hostels for boys and girls, ensuring a conducive learning atmosphere.

Admission Process & Documents
Admission Steps
- Apply for AIST: Register online for the All India Selection Test (AIST). The application fee is ₹600 for General/OBC/EWS and ₹300 for SC/ST/PWD categories.
- Appear for Entrance Exam: Take the Paper Based Test (PBT) on the scheduled date at your chosen center.
- Check Merit List: The merit list will be displayed on the FDDI website based on AIST scores.
- Participate in Counselling: Attend the counselling session as per your rank for seat allocation. A seat reservation fee of ₹25,000 is required at this stage.
- Confirm Admission: Pay the remaining balance fee within 10 days to confirm your admission and complete the enrollment process at the allotted campus.

Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor's Programmes (B.Des / BBA)
- Academic Qualification: Passed 10+2 in any stream from a recognized board, OR an equivalent examination.
- Appearing Candidates: Candidates awaiting their final 12th-grade results can apply for provisional admission.
- Age Limit: Maximum age of 25 years as of 1st July 2025.
Master's Programmes (MBA)
- Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized institute or university.
- Appearing Candidates: Candidates awaiting their final graduation results can apply for provisional admission.
- Age Limit: There is no age limit for Master's programmes.
