Established in 2021, the College of Agricultural Biotechnology (CAB) aims to cater academic and research excellence in the arena of biotechnology.
About the College
The College of Agricultural Biotechnology was established in 2021 in the headquarters of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, with the aim to cater academic and research excellence in the arena of biotechnology. This is the first agricultural biotechnology college of the state established by the Govt. of Bihar.
It is situated about 8 km east of Bhagalpur (the nearest railway junction) and is connected by rail and road links. The National Highway No. 80 passes through Sabour, linking Assam and Patna.
The college consists of four departments: the Department of Plant Biotechnology, Department of Animal Biotechnology, Department of Environmental and Microbial Technology, and Department of Bioinformatics. The mandate of the college is teaching, research, and developing entrepreneurship skills in the fields of biotechnology and allied disciplines.

- Appear for BCECE: Secure a valid rank in the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) under the Agriculture stream (PCB/PCM/PCMB/CBA etc.).
- Register for Counselling: Participate in the online counselling conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB).
- Choice Filling: Fill in B.Tech. (Biotechnology) at College of Agricultural Biotechnology, Sabour, as your preferred choice.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent examination.
- Required subjects: Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) OR Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) OR Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Biology (PCMB) OR Intermediate in Agriculture (I.Sc. Ag.).
- A minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required in 10+2.
- Admission is strictly based on the merit/rank in the BCECE examination.
