About CIMP
Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) was established in 2008 as an autonomous institute with the active support of the Government of Bihar. It was founded with the objective of contributing substantially to the academic and development profile of Bihar and the nation.
CIMP offers a two-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), approved by AICTE, accredited by NBA, and recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as equivalent to an MBA. The institute follows a rigorous academic curriculum designed to cultivate high-caliber researchers, educators, and industry-ready managers.
With a focus on innovation, CIMP also offers programs in Entrepreneurship (PGDM-IEV) and Fellow Programmes (FPM & EFPM), fueled by strong corporate connections and sponsorship from the state government.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)

The residential two-year full-time PGDM prepares students for the corporate sector by enhancing problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. The program intends to create managers with socially desirable values.
First Year Core: Business Communication, Finance & Accounting, Marketing, Systems, Organizational Behaviour, HRM, and Operations.
Second Year Electives: Specializations offered in Marketing, Finance, and Human Resource Management.
PGDM - Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Venture Development (IEV)
Sponsored by Dept. of Industries, Govt. of Bihar
A full-time academic programme designed to prepare participants to start their own enterprise. This unique programme offers pre-incubation handholding, live product/service development, proof of concept (PoC) testing, and IPR management.
- Incubation Support: Supported by CIMP Business Incubation and Innovation Foundation (CIMP-BIIF).
- Structure: 5 Modules, 2 Action Learning Segments, and 3 Capstone Projects.
- Unique Benefit: Participants will graduate with their own company/startup.
Heavy Fee Subsidy
80% of fees borne by Bihar Startup Fund Trust (BSFT) for General/OBC.
90% of fees borne by BSFT for SC/ST/Women/Differently Abled.
Fellow Programme in Management (FPM)
Full-Time Residential | 4 Years
Designed to cultivate high-calibre researchers and educators. The first year covers PGP courses, followed by Research Methodology and advanced doctoral courses.
Eligibility: Master's Degree (60%) + CAT/GMAT/GRE/NET Score.
Executive FPM (EFPM)
For Working Professionals
Enhances research capabilities of working executives and faculty. Requires completion of coursework through 4 campus visits over 2 years.
Eligibility: Min. 5 Years Work Experience + Master's Degree (First Class).

Eligibility & Tests
- 1. Academic: Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/DA). Final year students may apply.
- 2. Accepted Exams: CAT 2025, XAT 2026, CMAT 2026, ATMA 2026, CUET 2026, GMAT, MAT (Aug 2025 onwards).

- Shortlisting: Based on entrance test scores.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will face GD/PI and Writing Ability Test.
