Patliputra University, Patna was established on 18th March, 2018, by the order of the Government of Bihar. The university has jurisdiction over all colleges in Patna and Nalanda districts (except those attached to Patna University).
The University has control over 25 constituent colleges, two government girls colleges, three minority colleges, and numerous affiliated colleges. Many of these institutions run university-approved Post-Graduate centers and skill-oriented vocational courses.
